Eligibility

The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services (CRS) program at the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) provides critical rehabilitation services to eligible Texans who have experienced a traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury and need intensive therapies to help them live independently in their communities.

Texans who have a family member with a traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury which has affected their ability to perform daily activities are encouraged to apply to the CRS program.

Eligibility and application information is available by calling the DARS toll-free hotline at 1-800-628-5115 or by sending an email to DARS Inquiries.

More information about the eligibility requirements and services provided by the CRS program and locations of CRS providers around Texas are online at http://www.dars.state.tx.us/drs/crs.shtml.

Long Term Care & Supports for Individuals Who Have a Disability - What are Medicaid Waiver Programs and who is eligible?

In general Medicaid Wavier Programs fund services that help people (of all ages) who have a disability, blindness, or who are aging, live in the community instead of an institutional setting. Within each program you will find different eligibility requirements, rules, service options, and funding amounts. When you call to access services in Texas you will learn of an "interest list," known by families and individuals who have a disability as actually being a "waiting list."
